Library Grand Opening Book Brigade

Join us to move a symbolic selection of books from our old library to the new! Together we’ll pass them hand-over-hand through downtown Larkspur. The brigade will take place prior to the City of Larkspur’s Library Grand Opening at 10:30am. We need 800 participants and volunteers, so sign up today!

What We Do

The Friends of Larkspur Library is a non-profit organization which raises funds to support library programs, book collections, events, and library equipment. We strive to instill the love of reading and the thrill of learning in library patrons of all ages.

The FOLL supports many vital library needs, such as purchasing new materials, funding new programs and keeping its electronic database and streaming programs fully subscribed and current. It also has purchased upgrades to the Reading Room and the Children’s Library.

Who’s Larky

Larky is a big gentle yellow hippopotamus who loves books and kids. He was adopted as Larkspur Library’s mascot more than 50 years ago. Larkspur schoolchildren voted on his name. An important part of Larkspur town tradition, Larky comes to many town and library events. Be sure to say hello the next time you see him!
